Holiday in Limoux - How to get there

Not booked your flight yet, consider flying to Girona (Barcelona) which is 1.75 hours or Toulouse (Blagnac) 80 minutes away. More airlines and locations are served & the car hire can be cheaper.


Directions from Carcassone Airport
On leaving the airport you are directed one-way to the first round-about where you need to doubleback on yourself to drive towards Carcasonne. Follow the directions for the A61 (Toll Road).
At the next round-about take the exit signposted for Limoux and follow road to the junction where you will see Limoux signposted (D118) (Look for the sign indicating BIS Route. This is the French sign for a National Tourist route).

Follow this road until you arrive in Limoux and approach the round-about shown in photo gallery 1. (Click on image to get photos of route so far) just after the Fecos Mosaic shown in photo 2. and the road into the town centre.

Directions from A61
Leave the A61 at Junction 23 and follow directions as above.

Directions from N113
From Toulouse

Follow signs from N113 to Carcassonne Airport (Salvaza) (N161) and then head for Limoux as above.

From Narbonne
As you approach Carcassonne and the area where La Citè is situated you will see a slip road signposted for Limoux. Follow road until you link up with D118 then follow instructions above.

Directions from Perpignan Airport
Fast route (Toll Road)
On leaving Perpignan Rivesaltes Airport follow directions for Narbonne (N9) and join A9 at Junction 41 Perpignan Nord. Follow directions for Carcassonne and leave at Junction 23 on the A61.
Note the Toll for this journey is approx 16 euros and time to Carcassone is approx 1.25 hours.
Scenic route through the Pyranees
When you leave the airport take the first left at the 2nd. round­about the D117 to Estagel, Axat, Quillan, Limoux and Carcassonne. Follow this road until you arrive in Limoux and then turn left towards Mirapoix (D620) and follow instructions above.

Directions from Girona (Barcelona) Airport.
On leaving the airport join the A2 (Autopista /Peage /Toll Road) heading north towards Fuegeras, Jonquera, and France. At the French border the A2 becomes the A9, continue on towards Perpignan and Narbonne. Then follow signs for Carcassonne and Limoux as above.
